Evolutionary Aspects and Taxonomical Aspects of Neelagiri Kaduva
[ Neelagiri Tiger ]
Conferring
of the Scientific Name and Family Name to Neelagiri Kaduva

Relationship
of Neelagiri Kaduva to Smilodon or Homotherium
Smilodon was a large animal that weighed 160 to 280 kg (350
- 620 lbs), larger than lions and
about the size of Siberian tigers. Smilodon, the Saber-Toothed
Tiger, was different from living
large cats, with proportionally longer front legs and a much
more muscular build.
Neelagiri Kaduva doesn't have any saber-tooth, so it could not
be directly related to Smilodon or
Homotherium.

Relationship
of Neelagiri Kaduva to Amphicyonidae
Amphicyon was the typical Bear-Dog amphicyonid with morphology
similar to
both bears and dogs. The largest species looked more like a
bear than a dog.
Morphologically Neelagiri Tiger is very different from Amphicyonidae
Family.
The Face of Neelagiri Kaduva looks more like a Mix of a Dog
and a Tiger's Face. Therefore we
can discard Amphicyonidae Family.

Relationship
of Neelagiri Kaduva to Hyaenidae
Certain features of Neelagiri Kaduva has vague resemblance to
Hyenas, like the nature of the
hair. But it is certainly not any sort of Hyena.
Though Hyena is not present in Kerala, we still have Striped
Hyenas in India.
Another very interesting Similarity of Neelagiri Kaduva and
Hyenas are that, for both, the body is
taller in the Fore Limbs area, whereas it's shorter in the Hind
Limbs area.
But the point to Note is that, that is due to Two Entirely different
reasons.
● For Hyena the difference in height happens mainly due to the
Slanting of the Body from Front
to Back.
● For Neelagiri Kaduva the difference in height happens due
to the fact that the Hind Legs are
SMALLER than the Front Legs !

Reference ] .

■ In my New Scientific Method to prove a New Species, F3B-NSPM,
one of the the main
Species which I considered, and then discarded with Proof, Scientifically,
is Hyena.

■ Another Similarity between Neelagiri Kaduva and Hyena is that,
like the latter, Neelagiri Tiger
also eats the whole of its prey, including Bones and Skin !
The only part left by Neelagiri Kaduva
would be the Skull.
Dijo Thomas says that Neelagiri Kaduva Family could be distantly
related to Hyaenidae Family,
though we can rule out close relationship.

Relationship
of Neelagiri Kaduva to Tigers and Felidae
✅ But the Fascinating thing is that, among all Felines or Canids,
it has the Closest Similarity to
Tigers than any other Species ❗
■ There is Similarity between Neelagiri Kaduva and Tiger in
Size, Stripes on the body, and most
Importantly, its Behavior Patterns.
Similarity between Neelagiri Kaduva and Tiger in Behavior Patterns
■ Neelagiri Kaduva is a Chase Hunter like a Tiger ! ( as against
an Ambush Hunter like Leopard ).
■ Like Tiger they are Lone Hunters!
■ Neelagiri Tiger also live a Solitary life, like Tiger, except
during the time of Mating, and a brief
period of litter raising!
● The Colloquial names in 3 States all have the word Tiger
in them for Neelagiri Kaduva! That
could be only because the people, for Generations saw some similarly
to Tiger!
I have named this Species Neelagiri Kaduva, Kaduva means Tiger
in Malayalam and Classical
Tamil.
● The main Colloquial Name for Neelagiri Tiger are Patti Kaduva
in Kerala, Naai Huli in
Karnataka and Kaduva Puli/ Naai Puli , all meaning "Dog
Tiger ", in 3 different South Indian
languages in 3 States of , Tamil Nadu and Karnataka !
○ This Colloquial names are derived from the fact that, the
face resembles a Dog, but body Size,
Shape and Stripes resemble a Tiger !

Relationship
of Neelagiri Kaduva to Canidae
Neelagiri Kaduva's Face is very Broad like Tiger, but Very Longer
than them. The Appearance of
the Face is somewhat Similar to Dogs.
The Eyes are very different from from dogs.
The main Prey of Neelagiri Kaduvas are dogs. This makes it Highly
Unlikely that Neelagiri Tigers
belong to Canidae ( Dog Family ).
The Pugmarks of Neelagiri Kaduva is Similar to Canids, but the
Size is that of Fully grown Tigers
and Leopards.
( □ Pugmarks size in Trivandrum was 9 cm - only Largest of Leopards
will have a 9 cm
Pugmarks ! )
( □ Pugmarks size in Thrissur was 12 cm - only Tigers and Lions
will have a 12 cm Pugmarks ! )

Family Status and Family Name of Neelagiri Kaduva !
■ Neelagiri Kaduva is a New Family Altogether ‼
From the start itself, I didn't have any doubt, about the Family
Status of Neelagiri Tiger. From
the month of Discovery, ie September 2014 itself, I have Classified
Neelagiri Kaduva as a NEW
FAMILY !
You can see that in My Websites and Articles about Neelagiri
Tiger since 2014.
● But very interestingly, Neelagiri Tiger has the Features of
both Cat and Dog Families. It is
very Evident from the last two Sub - Sections.
■ This Points to the Fact that Neelagiri Kaduva is the Common
Ancestor of Felidae and Canidae.
....................................................................................
I
have Conferred the Family Name of KADUVANEELA to Neelagiri Kaduva
Family .
....................................................................................
Species
Name of Neelagiri Kaduva !
I have Conferred
the Scientific Name of Poorvika Kaduvarar to Neelagiri Kaduva
.

Scientific
Classification of Neelagiri Kaduva
Kingdom :
Animalia

▪No Scientific Name was given till now, as there was TOTAL NON
- COOPERATION from the
Academic Institutions or Indian Government.
There is Opposition and Attacks, even Physical Attacks, from
the Criminals in Political parties,
Religious Fanatics, Kerala Government, Indian Government etc.,
as I am an Activist and Opposes
Wrong things in the Society.
Finally, I have decided to give the Scientific Name and Family
Name of Neelagiri Kaduva, all by Myself !
